The annual O.S.C. Kingston, Ontario bike ride is scheduled for June 20th (Saturday), everyone is invited including guests.
We will meet at the Cape Vincent parking area at 8:30 a.m. It is a short walking distance to the Horne's Ferry Dock. We will take the 9:00 a.m. ferry to Wolfe Island ($3.00 fee). You must bring your passport or Enhanced Driver's License with you.
Horne's Ferry Dock
173 James St
Cape Vincent, NY 13618
We will bike across Wolfe Island (7-miles, an easy ride, mainly flat).
Again, same as last year, we have two choices for cycling.
1. Board the ferry to Kingston, Ontario (no charge) and sightsee the area, i.e. visit Fort Henry National Historic Site, Rideau Canal and Martello Towers (nearby), art galleries, numerous museums and shops, multiple restaurants, and an opportunity to explore the area riding your bicycle or simply walking.
2. Remain on Wolfe Island, starting at the bakery in Marysville near the ferry dock, bike approx 36-miles with your leader, John Heslop. Pack your own picnic lunch, relax for a bit and enjoy the sights from the park located at the tip of the island, Port Metcaffe. Afterwards, you will meet up with the other party at approx 3:30 p.m. at the ferry dock in Marysville.
For the Kingston cyclists, we will spend a few hours there and then depart for Wolfe Island, taking the 3:00 p.m ferry and bike across the island once again. We will board the 4:45 p.m. ferry to the U.S.A ($3.00 fee), and return to Cape Vincent at approximately 5:00 p.m.
More detail will follow as we get closer to the event.
Registration opens April 1st when an announcement email will go out to members.
