I recommended 8/20 because of the extra time it would give. I don’t think that too many people on the Chile trip would be interested in golfing as many are from out of town.
But I have no idea who is on the list otherwise.

In 2019 we paid $20 for 9 holes at Vesper and $30 for buffet dinner.  We charged $25 so that we had some extra to pay for appetizers before dinner.  We actually had 12 teams (48) golfers.  We did some prizes and swag including water etc..  This money came from each team buying mulligans for $10.  Other costs included decorations and music.  We made up raffle baskets to raise extra money.  You can just charge a bit more to help with what is needed.

Orchard valley sounds good.  Make sure they realize you may not fill the course but that may be included in the cost of $37 for 18.  We have participated in tournaments there before and their food is good.

Any questions please let me know.  We had a 5 person committee and one was responsible for the registrations and collecting of money.

Anne i was wondering if we should take the August 6, only because some people will be on the Chile ski trip, what fo you think? I’m still waiting to hear from Vesper Hill, but will definitely finishing up Tuesday afternoon

Orchard Valley would be a very good choice. I personally would choose August 20. I’d definitely grab a date ASAP as that’s a very busy course.
I’ve played many times and it’s a very nice course. I think the $25 buffet is more than adequate.
Bill Beaudin has been a member there for decades so he could answer any questions and is still ona weekly golf league.

Sorry for delay but I am out of town and don’t have access to exact numbers but here is some info.  We spoke with “Robbie” at vesper hills. We had 13 teams of 4 /52 golfers and used the front 9 so they didn’t have to close to others. We only did 9 holes.  I believe it was a Sunday afternoon. The dinner and event after included another 30+. They can hold about 80 people. I will get you the costs for golf and dinner when I return tomorrow night.

Another option might be orchard valley. They have a nice dinner/event area which can hold 100 or so people.

Hickory Hill in Baldwinsville has open dates available. They charge $25 a golfer(includes cart), $10 for putt putt golf. Pros: 18 hole course, large parking lot, large venue area, alcoholic beverage available, putt putt course. Cons Small par 3 course, no food service(will allow catering),

I definitely think Vesper is a nicer venue.

We had a biking meeting last night and have scheduled rides for July 15 and August 12. We’re scheduling one more but don’t have and exact date. So far there is no conflict but you can see already how booked up the golf clubs get in the summer/fall

I’m using this forum as a sounding board, please fell free to comment on anything I post, your suggestions are very welcomed. I checked with the Woods in Baldwinsville and they charge $20 a person for non golfers and $40 for golfers, they have August 5 open otherwise their next date is in October. They have a outdoor area with corn hole game and seating, Its a 9 hole course but if we want we could play the white tees the first nine and the red tees the next nine. They can cater to 60+ without a problem, and bands are welcomed. This course is ok but not as nice as Vesper Hills, but it was my first contact, so let me know what you think.
