European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS)

We will send you a link to obtain an ETIAS as soon as it is available.

Here is some information about the ETIAS.

The rules of travel to most European countries have changed. Starting in the first half of 2025, some 1.4 billion people from over 60 visa-exempt countries are required to have a travel authorization to enter 30 European countries for a short stay. Italy and Switzerland are .two of the countries that require an ETIAS.

ETIAS travel authorization is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to any of these 30 European countries. It is linked to a traveler’s passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorization.

With a valid ETIAS travel authorization, you can enter the territory of these European countries as often as you want for short-term stays - normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. However, it does not guarantee entry. When you arrive, a border guard will ask to see your passport and other documents and verify that you meet the entry conditions.

What information will I be asked to provide in my application?

You will be asked to provide the following information:

Personal information including your name(s), date and place of birth, sex, nationalities, home address, email address and phone number(s);

Your parents’ first name(s);

Travel document details;

Your level of education and current occupation;

The country of your first intended stay and the address of your destination;

Details about any past criminal convictions, past travels to war or conflict zones, and whether you have recently been the subject of a return decision.

Can I include my family members in my application?

No. The ETIAS travel authorization is issued only to one person and is linked to their travel document. Other persons, including family members, are required to have their own ETIAS travel authorizations.

Required Documentation for International Travel:

Within the United States, air travelers are required to present photo identification, such as a current driver’s license.
International travel requires a passport and, in some cases, a visa.

All individuals are responsible for obtaining the required documentation necessary to travel. Incomplete travel documentation may result in denied boarding by the air carrier.

Travel document requirements are subject to change without prior notification at the discretion of appropriate government agencies or the air carrier. Your Trip Leader will make their best efforts to communicate any changes in requirements.

Names for the airline tickets must be identical to the first and last names on your government issued photo ID to be used at airport security.  Passengers who do not match their ID may be denied boarding

Please check your passport expiration date. The expiration date MUST be more that 6 months after you are to return.

Passports with at least 2 blank pages are necessary

Due to new security measures, many airlines require passport numbers in their records prior to issuing airline tickets.
The Trip Operator may require  a copy of a valid passport.  If the Trip Operator requires a copy of your passport it must be received no later than issuing of airline tickets, which is 90 days prior to departure.

Obtaining or renewing a passport is your responsibility and takes a minimum of 8 to 11 weeks. Expedited processing is available for an additional fee.

It is a good idea to download and print the US Dept of State Traveler’s Checklist and add the address/phonenumber of U.S. embassy or consulate in that country to carry with you.
