Morgan Hill Hike

Fellows Hill is the second highest point in Onondaga County. This 3.5 mile hike in Morgan Hill State Forest features the summit of the Fellows Hill, waterfalls and cascades as well as Spruce Pond.

The Fellows Hill Loop Trail was at one time the Onondaga Trail and is currently part of the 900+ mile Finger Lakes Trail System. The Onondaga Trail was rerouted to carry the North Country National Scenic Trail through Morgan Hill State Forest.

We will be following orange blazes for most of this hike.  You'll notice the blue blazes of the North Country Trail as you hike near Spruce Pond, but for the most part we'll follow the orange blazes for the Fellows Hill Loop Trail.  Web Link --> Fellows Hill

Trail Conditions: Tree roots are at several spots along the trail. There is a small stream crossing in one spot along the trail. There are flat rocks for stepping onto to get across the stream.

Directions to trailhead: From Rt. 81 exit 14, turn onto Rt. 80 heading east. Herilihy Rd. is approx. 5 mi. east on Rt. 80 from exit 14. Turn right on Herilihy Rd. Parking area by Spruce Pond is approx. 2 mi. down the road. The road is paved for the first mile and then turns to dirt and gravel for the last mile to Spruce Pond.  Please drive slowly on the gravel road !!
