Spruce Pond to Jones Hill Hike

This will be a reprise of last year's first "decent spring weather hike" and we should see some trillium and other spring flowers. (It will also be our last Wednesday hike as bicycling begins the next Wednesday.)
We'll meet at the Spruce Pond parking lot at the south end of Herlihy Road and start hiking at 10 PM. To get to Herlihy Road, go to Tully and head east toward Fabius. Herlihy Road is about five miles east of Rt. 81 and runs south off Rt. 80.
Leaving the parking lot, we'll go across the dam and then up a very steep hill, then traverse across a relatively flat and often muddy stretch until we reach the Jones Hill hang glider launching site. The ambitious hikers can then head south to the top of Tinker Falls.
Hiking conditions will depend on the weather but there will be slippery and muddy sections and good boots and hiking poles are suggested. Round trip distances from Spruce Pond are 2.8 miles to Jones Hill and about 4.7 miles to the top of Tinker Falls.
