Baltimore Woods Hike

On April 25th, we’ll start hiking at 1:30 from the parking lot just south of the Baltimore Woods Interpretive Center on Bishop Hill Road in Marcellus.
From the center of the village of Marcellus, turn onto South Street and go about 0.7 miles to the intersection of Bishop Hill Road. Turn left onto Bishop Hill Road and go up the hill about 0.6 miles, parking in the lot just past the Interpretive Center.
On the hiking forum site, we'll add a link to the Baltimore Woods trail map and we’ll start by going through the wildflower gardens at the top of the hill, near the entry.
Next we'll go down 150 feet on the fairly steep yellow Valley Trail, then go clockwise around the perimeter on the Boundary Trail, followed by the Overlook Trail, and finally up the other side of the Valley Trail.
The planned total distance will be about three miles, but there are more trails for the ambitious. While both sides of the Valley Trail are steep and rough in places, most of the other trails are relatively smooth but, since it is April, there will likely be muddy and wet sections. In addition, ticks and other insects will be active.
