Webster Pond and Rand Tract Loop Hike

On May 9th we will start at 1:00 from the back of Onondaga Valley Cemetery on Rt 80 in Nedrow, NY. To get to the cemetery, take Rt 80 south from where it intersects Rt 173 (West Seneca Tpk) The entrance is about 1 mile south on Rt 80, across the road from the WSYR building. Drive all the way to back of the cemetery. Near the woods there is a small parking area. If you can, I would suggest carpooling. Please try to arrive 15 minutes early.
We will begin with about a 1 mile walk over to and around Webster Pond and return to about where we started. From there, we will hike around the Rand Tract Loop.
The first leg of the loop is primarily a half mile moderate uphill climb, followed by a half-mile section across the top of the ridge with some fascinating rock formations. The last section returns down hill and back to the starting location.
The total mileage for this hike is about 3 miles and the elevation gain is about 300’. It will take an hour and a half to two hours.
