  • 338 McLean Road, Cortland, 13045

Registration is closed

The hike has been cancelled because of weather.  Hoping to reschedule after the holidays.

On December 7th we'll be having a hike at Lime Hollow Nature Center in Southwest Cortland. We've chosen this location as it is hunting season and this area is protected.  I might still suggest wearing something bright to be safe.

The trails are relatively flat, but there will be some irregular sections and possibly some wet areas, depending upon the weather.  The length of this hike will be about 3 miles plus or minus.

Please be sure to register for the hike so we can control the number of cars in the parking lot and can keep you posted on details.  ***(please note parking comment below) ***

They have dedicated cross-country ski trails but we’ll suggest using hiking boots, microspikes, or snowshoes depending on the weather and I’ll keep you updated both on the forum and by email.

We'll plan to meet at 12:45 at the Lime Hollow Visitor’s Center at 338 McLean Rd, Cortland, NY 13045. You can find a trail map on the website. > Lime Hollow Visitor's Center  (Visit Us --> Trails --> Trail Map)

  • The best way to get there from the Syracuse area is to get onto Rt. 281 in Homer, then head south.
  • After passing a Fairfield Inn on your right, you’ll see the Pall Trinity manufacturing buildings, also on your right.
  • Immediately after Pall Trinity is a traffic light at McLean Road. Turn right and follow McLean Road a little more than 2 miles to the Lime Hollow Nature Center main parking lot on your left. (It’s about 0.2 miles past the intersection with Lime Hollow Road on the left).

The trails are relatively flat but there will be some irregular sections and, depending on the weather the days before the hike, there may be wet areas. Hiking boots would be a good idea and be sure to bring insect repellant.

PARKING NOTE: The Nature center is having their x-mas tree sale during this time, so I suggest carpooling if possible.  They said if we need additional parking that we can park in the next driveway near the red barn.

I'll post updates on the forum as we closer to the hike date.
