Kayak - Mercer Park

Directions: 

Via I-690 West -

• Take I-690 West out of Syracuse. 

• Take the third Baldwinsville Exit (Radison/Baldwinsville) onto Route 31/Route 370 after passing over the Seneca River.

• Make a left onto W Genesee Rd. 

• Once in the village, take a right onto North Street. 

• Mercer Park will be on your right.

Via US-81 North - 

• Take US-81 north out of Syracuse,

• Keep right and leave the freeway at exit 29N towards NY-481 N from the right.

• Keep right and leave the freeway at Exit 12 towards Baldwinsville/RADISON.

• Turn Left onto State Rt-31.

• Once in the village of Baldwinsville, take a Left onto North Street.

• Mercer Park will be on your right.

• Sunset is at 8:30 pm. Please ensure you return by 7:30 pm at the latest.

Note: There is a canoe/kayak launch at Mercer Park.

Paddling Directions: 

We will be paddling upstream for at least two miles on the right side of the river and will pass under the 690 bridge and pass Maloney Island. 

We will cross the river and paddle the opposite side passing Maloney Island again. We might paddle into two ponds near the island if the water is high enough. 

Warning: Do not approach the Baldwinsville dam or spillway gate to the left of Papermill Island Park.

We will gather nearby for a meal after the paddle.
