The fall book discussion will take place sometime in November 2019. But we are posting about it early because the non-fiction book choice is very popular right now and you'll need to get your hold in early at the library to make sure you get the book in time to read it.
We are going to try something different and give readers a choice depending on which genre appeals to them (or feel free to read both choices!). We will discuss both books at the meeting so everyone can hear about both books, and we will have discussion questions that will allow everyone to discuss the themes of both books. The overall theme is Native Americans.
Choose between (1) the non-fiction book Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann (with a very, very long waiting list at the library) or (2) a fiction book to be determined dealing with Native Americans. Or (3) read them both!
We have a couple ideas in mind for the fiction book but are also looking for suggestions. Please respond on the Forum with comments or ideas. Some ideas for the novel so far: The Beantrees or Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver, Love Medicine or The Roundhouse by Louise Erdrich.
