Today was a day to take a hike. The sun was up, temp around 60, things fairly dry.  Neville arranged for a Song Mountain hike where a dozen members or so of the club got together at the main lodge and took a hike uphill. That's one step after another going uphill, going on up the trail most west of the ski area named Sentimental Journey. We've skied this trail a lot, and it's fun and easy to do getting back down from the summit. Funny, it's not so easy hiking up. None-the-less, we all got to the top where we all got together for some pictures of the group in front of the scenic view of Otisco Lake out there a few miles away. From there we wandered off to the east on Moonglow, a trail that goes across the top of the ski area so one can access any of the other trails. We stopped at other trail heads to take pictures looking down the slopes and out to whatever was to be seen in the far distance. Everything was so green, much different than the days of taking a lift up and gliding down on skis or boards. You get a different perspective of the slopes you may have spent some wonderful time on when it's much colder. Then it was going-downhill back to the lodge which was much easier except the 'trail' I chose. It is directly if front of the the Thunderbird Club and is actually under the chair lift. I'm not sure it's a 'real' ski trail, and you'd need to be able to ski on a double-black marked trail to successfully survive getting to the bottom where you'd need to veer sharply to the right when you got to the bottom. Just hiking down was a challenge for me. In any case, everyone did survive the hike and was smiling when done, so thank you Neville.
