A golf tournament is a great idea. The Wods is a good place and has a nice restaurant however parking is very limited. 
you might want to give yourself a bit more time to organize it and also check the calendar for any conflicts as biking is having some events too on the weekends. (I would assume you want a weekend event). 
As I remember the event at Vesper Hills and Tuscarora included also non golfers who came later. 
Remember this forum only goes to those who signed up for golf so to reach golfers who aren’t in it you’d use happenings. 
so as for time. Maybe early September. 
place- Vesper Hills again? Timber Banks?Green Lakes- Drumlins. . - places with good restaurant venues. 
I believe Mary Clements said she was involved in the last outing. 
so there is a lot to be decided- Date/venue/ golfers and non golfers ? /
